Procedural Strata Marble – Blender Material

A layered procedural marble

Broad layered stone with finely eroded mineral deposits under a smooth polished surface. One customizable node group. The pattern is fully 3D from Object coordinates, so it wraps around any shape without UVs or image textures.

Features:

  • Four presets: Honey Gold (warm honey with pale calcite deposits), Obsidian Green (deep green black with smoky mineral patches), Smoked Taupe (muted gray brown with lighter fragments) and Silver White (pale cool stone with gray deposits)
  • One node group with the controls sorted into Palette, Mineral Pattern, Fine Grains, Sparse Thick Veins and Polished Finish, plus a Mineral Mask output for further customization
  • Stone, Layer and Mineral colors, with Color Detail for fine tonal variation
  • Layer Stretch and Rotation shape and tilt the strata, and Distortion bends them
  • Mineral Coverage, Edge Detail and Edge Softness set how much of the stone the deposits cover and how their edges break up
  • Two grain layers, Fine Grain and Micro Grain, for close views
  • Occasional broken veins with their own color, amount and width, or set Vein Amount to 0 to turn them off
  • Roughness goes from polished to honed, with Roughness Variation and a very shallow Micro Relief
  • Fully 3D from Object coordinates, so there are no UVs, image textures or displacement to deal with (apply the object’s scale first)
  • The four materials and the node group are marked as assets, ready for the Asset Browser
  • Built and rendered in Blender 5.2

Perfect for:

  • Floors, countertops and wall panels in interior and archviz scenes
  • Columns, sculptures and other shapes that would be awkward to unwrap
  • Product renders that need a polished stone surface

If you want classic veined marble instead of layered stone, the Procedural Marble material has three veined presets.

Included Files:

  • Blender project (.blend) with the four preset materials and the customizable node group
  • A four-preset scene and a single-sphere studio scene
  • Created in Blender 5.2
