A procedural oak wood material
Everything sits on one node group with the controls sorted into Color, Grain and Surface, and a single checkbox decides whether the grain follows your UV map or the object itself, which means it works on meshes you have not unwrapped.
Features:
- One node group, with every control grouped and labelled
- Works with or without UVs – tick Use Object Coordinates and it maps itself
- Fully procedural, so it stays sharp at any distance and tiles forever
- Grain Offset slides the pattern along its length, so two objects sharing the material do not show identical grain
- Ambient occlusion edge darkening that gathers in corners and crevices the way real finished timber does
- Tone, contrast, grain scale and surface relief all exposed as sliders
- Built and rendered in Blender 5.2
Perfect for:
- Furniture, flooring and interior scenes
- Close-up renders where an image texture would fall apart
If you want something rougher with knots and cracks in it, the Procedural Realistic Wood material takes a different approach.
Included Files:
- Blender project (.blend) with the material, the node group and a lit preview scene
- Created in Blender 5.2
